DupeAlerte #3: Reimagining Colourpop Chateau

In our new 'DupeAlerte' series, we're re-imagining the most popular colors seen online using the Finding Ferdinand Starter Kit! If you have a new favorite color you would like us to recreate, email us at hello@findingferdinand.com.

It’s no surprise that lipsticks like Colourpop’s Chateau have been all over social media lately. Vampy reds are a go-to color for the winter. But there’s a fine line between vampy and gothic. This blackened cherry shade seems to seesaw right on the edge of that elusive boundary. Taking bold to a whole new level, we just had to recreate this look.

For my personal take on the rich, sultry hue, I married our deepest, darkest shade Sinful at 100% with Berry Jam at around 40%, and made it sheer for the sake of wearability. For those days (who am I kidding, nights) when I feel like testing the limits of my own fierceness, I also made a more spot on version of Chateau by making Sinful the star of the show and reducing Berry Jam to 10% in our matte formula. The depth and tone is spot on, and has some serious staying power - it reminds me of those red wines that you can’t drink without carrying around a toothbrush.

Make any color you mix in your palette sheer simply by adding your favorite lip balm! And if this color tempts you but you prefer a cooler undertone… Check out our Bordeaux sheer lip tint!
